Our Rohe Te Ranga Tupua
Our rohe, known as Te Ranga Tupua, comprises a collective of iwi that represent the wider Whanganui region. The geographical region is defined from the mountain – maunga Ruapehu, to the sea, from the Pātea river to the Ngaruroro river.
It encompasses townships including Taumarunui, Raetihi, Ohakune, Waiouru, Taihape, Bulls, Marton, Whanganui and the expanse of the Whanganui river. The local territorial authorities include Ruapehu, Rangitīkei, Whanganui and parts of South Taranaki, encompassing both the Horizons and Taranaki Regional Councils.
